If you've been trying to play EA games online this afternoon, you've probably been having problems. That's because of a DDoS attack on the publisher's servers, which has impacted its games' online functionality.

Earlier today, EA tweeted about the problems, notifying players of the outage.

An error occurred while retrieving the Tweet. It might have been deleted.

Then the group PoodleCorp tweeted this, claiming responsibility:

An error occurred while retrieving the Tweet. It might have been deleted.

PoodleCorp has previously claimed responsibility for similar attacks on Blizzard's and Riot's servers. The outage is particularly inconvenient for Battlefield fans, since the beta for Battlefield 1 kicked off today.

Our Take
People using DDoS attacks to stifle gamers' entertainment isn't anything new, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating for people who were hoping to log some online time today.
