Red Bull's New Documentary Series Will Profile Super Smash Bros. Player William 'Leffen' Hjelte

by Suriel Vazquez on Aug 27, 2016 at 01:46 PM

William "Leffen" Hjelte is one of the best Super Smash Bros. Melee players in the world. Red Bull has announced Hjelte is the subject of the second season of their "Cultivation" documentary series.

Sponsored by League of Legends enterprise Team Solo Mid, Hjelte has become a key figure in competitive Smash Bros., taking on long-time veterans like Joseph "Mango" Marquez and Adam "Armada" Lindgren. Hjelte has also taken on a reputation as a heel, assuming an arrogant attitude to match his skill level.  He was due to compete in many major tournaments this year, but was denied access to the United States due to visa issues. "Cultivation" will chronicle his rise to fame, his recent struggles, and his day-to-day life.

The "Cultivation" series will release six episodes profiling the Hjelte, airing from August 31 through October 5. The series previously examined Darryl "Snake Eyez" Lewis, a high-level Street FIghter player. You can watch a trailer for the upcoming season below.

Our Take
Between this and the Metagame documentary, Smash fans looking to learn more about their favorite players have more than enough places to watch. Hjelte's attitude in particular could make him an interesting subject.
