Rick & Morty Co-Creator Teaming With Former Epic Executive Producer For VR Games

by Kyle Hilliard on Aug 25, 2016 at 06:00 AM

Justin Roiland, the man behind the voices of both and Rick and Morty in the show he co-created has formed Squanchtendo with Epic Games' Tanya Watson in order to create VR games.

Roiland and Watson (pictured below, one slightly more prepared to have their photo taken than the other), don't have a formal game announcement, but say its partnership will be, "combining edgy, mature comedy with refined, high-end gameplay mechanics and stories."

The two will have a project to show off at PAX and also offered a comic about the partnership, which you can see below.

It's unclear if Squanchtendo has anything to do with the upcoming Rick and Morty VR experience, Rick and Morty Simulator: Virtual Rick-ality, which you can read more about here.

Our Take
Tanya Watson has worked on a lot of really good games. Justin Roiland is a funny guy and often displays a genuine appreciation for video games. There is a lot of potential here.
