Nintendo Announces Nindies Summer Jam Lineup
Nintendo has announced the lineup for its Nindies Summer Jam program, which will highlight five games from independent developers for the month of September.
The games will launch on the 3DS, Wii U, or both and will feature a 10 percent discount during their first week of release. The titles are as follows:
September 1: Axiom Verge (Wii U). You can read our review of the PlayStation 4 version of the game here.
September 8: Jotun: Valhalla Edition (Wii U)
September 15: Noitu Love: Devolution (Wii U/3DS)
September 22: Severed (Wii U/3DS). You can read our review of the Vita version of the game here.
September 30: Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 (3DS)
In addition to the titles themselves, the Summer Jam program also features video interviews with the developers of each game, as well as a number of titles each developer recommends.
Our Take
It's nice to see Nintendo implement a program similar to PlayStation's Play promotion, but I'm a little nonplussed by the lineup. Every game save for Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 has been available on other platforms in some form for a while, so there isn't much to get excited about.
