Quantum Break Coming To Steam In September, PC Retail Release Announced

by Blake Hester on Aug 10, 2016 at 06:50 AM

Previously only available on PC via the Windows Store, Microsoft and Remedy announced today that Quantum Break will be releasing on Steam and in retail stores, with the physical PC release of Quantum Break: Timeless Collector’s Edition. They will both be available on September 14.

Both versions of the game will cost $39.99 USD. The retail release of the Quantum Break: Timeless Collector’s Edition, published in conjunction with Nordic Games, will feature a making of book and Blu-Ray, two posters, a CD of the game's soundtrack, premium packing, and five game discs, though a one-time Steam key redemption will also be required. Both versions will also come with all updates for Quantum Break.

Microsoft also announced that both the Windows Store version of the game and the digital version of the Timeless Collector’s Edition are now discounted to $39.99. For more on Quantum Break, check out our review.

Our Take
I think it'll be interesting to see how this release ends up. When Quantum Break released on the Windows Store, it was more or less a disaster. Hopefully Remedy and Microsoft have taken necessary precautions to make sure they don't see a repeat when the game comes to Steam.
