Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron Out Tomorrow On PS4, Xbox One

by Mike Futter on Aug 08, 2016 at 05:34 AM

With absolutely no fanfare, Activision is releasing another current-generation port. This time, it’s the second Cybertron game from High Moon Studios.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is the second of two titles that take place before the original 1980s cartoon series. You’ll be able to progress through two different storylines, each featuring one side of the Autobot-Decepticon war.

This entry introduces the Dinobots and combiners, as well as some of the biggest Transformers ever to walk the face of Cybertron. No word yet on when we can expect it to arrive in North America, but we’ve inquired.

The port was handled by FunLabs, which handled the last-gen versions of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5, the current-gen Prototype ports, and a number of Cabela games. You can check out our review of Fall of Cybertron for more.

Update: Activision has confirmed a North American release for tomorrow. More information is on the way.

Our Take
Given Activision’s track record with ports, I’m not getting my hopes up. I loved this game, but I have a feeling I’m in for disappointment with the Xbox One and PS4 editions.
