Weekend Warrior – A Little Bit Of Everything
Our list of games we plan to tackle this weekend is one of the most varied entries as of late. We've got tons of fighting games, some indies, and even mobile games besides Pokémon Go that are capturing our attention. Here's what the GI crew will be up to this weekend, and the games we'll get to play in our downtime.
Brian Shea (@BrianPShea) – This weekend I’ll be finishing up Hyper Light Drifter and continuing my progress on Badland: Game of the Year Edition. I’ll also play a ton of Overwatch and Pokémon Go (nothing new), and maybe some other things.
Javy Gwaltney (@HurdyIV) – I'll be checking out Abzû, finishing up Jessica Jones, and writing words about video games this weekend while I sip ungodly amounts of coffee. I do it for you, reader. You're welcome.
Blake Hester (@ilovekidrock666) – I’m going to read some books.
AJ Moser (@andmoser) – I am going to spend the entire weekend with Persona 4 Golden because I just started it for the first time and I'm in love. Oh, and wait for Frank Ocean to drop his new album.
Mike Futter (@Futterish) – This weekend I’ll be diving back into Evolve with friends. I also plan on spending more time with the bevy of fighting games I’ve picked up recently: Killer Instinct, Ultra Street Fighter IV, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. I want to dive into some of my Steam library, too, though I don’t know quite what I want to play.
Jeff Cork (@gijeff) – Alas, I have a bunch of work to do this weekend, so I don’t think I’m going to have much time for gaming. I’ll still pop into Clash Royale and get my daily chests and all that nonsense, but I’m not going to be able to spend much time making actual progress on a larger game. Maybe if I whistle or think happy thoughts, the work will become as fun as a game?
Kyle Hilliard (@KyleMHilliard) – Despite having already played it in PC I have been fully pulled back into Hyper Light Drifter on PS4. I'm trying to get every collectible and upgrade, etc., and I am making good progress, but I doubt I will ever be able to claim the Platinum because of the playing the game without dying trophy. I don't see that happening. Otherwise, it's a pretty standard hang out with the family kind of weekend. I'm still all in on Pokémon Go (even with the update frustrations) so I'm sure we'll be taking some walks.
Suriel Vazquez (@SurielVazquez) – I’ll be working on a review game I can’t talk about, but I’ll probably squeeze some Headlander wherever I can. I played the first hours of it this morning and I’m loving its look.
Haley MacLean (@haleyfaxer) – I'll be playing some more of Overwatch, more specifically Lúcioball, in order to get those sweet, sweet seasonal loot boxes. I also played Abzû this week and enjoyed it so thoroughly I'm considering an immediate second playthrough. Other than that maybe a bit more Hyper Light Drifter or trucking through some more puzzles in The Witness.
