The annual celebration of id Software's franchises and PC gaming, QuakeCon, is coming to Dallas, Texas next week. This year, QuakeCon is partnering with a number of charities in hopes to give back to the community.

Acting as North America's largest LAN party, the festival starts on August 4 and runs through August 7. id Software and Bethesda Softworks promise to reveal more details about some of their upcoming games at the event as well as hosting competitive tournaments. The national and local charities that will be present at QuakeCon include the American Red Cross, 1Up On Cancer, Dallas Pets Alive, and Extra Life.

American Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive on-site, that participants can register for online ahead of the event. Donors will receive a limited edition Bethesda T-shirt based on the design from this year's E3 presentation, seen below.

Dallas Pets Alive will also have a presence at QuakeCon, accepting donations and bringing pets that visitors can adopt. The local charity will be holding raffles all weekend long for signed merchandise and a custom Vault-Tech themed Xbox One system.

Extra Life and 1UP On Cancer are both gaming-based fundraising groups that will be present and raising awareness and money during the weekend. The full schedule of panels and events for QuakeCon 2016 was recently revealed, which you can see here.
