Microsoft Releasing Madden 17, Halo Collection Bundles For Xbox One S

by Jeff Cork on Jul 26, 2016 at 04:30 AM

Microsoft is launching its incremental upgrade to the Xbox One, the Xbox One S, next month. In addition to giving players support for 4K resolution and a new controller, prospective players can grab the console in one of two newly revealed bundles: a Madden NFL 17 bundle, and one that includes the Halo 5: Guardians and the Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

The Madden NFL 17 bundle includes the console with a 1TB hard drive and controller, a copy of the game, seven Madden Ultimate Team Pro Packs, and a free month of the EA Access service. If you preorder the $349 bundle, you can get a promo code good for 20-percent off your next order at NFLShop.com.

Halo players have a couple of options: They can opt for a 1TB version of the bundle for $349, or a 500GB version that's priced at $299. Both include the console and controller, and copies of Halo 5: Guardians and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Both bundles will be available August 23. If you'd like to learn more about the Xbox One S, take a look at our detailed rundown.

Our Take
Considering these are the list prices for the bare-bones Xbox One S, these bundles seem like a no-brainer. Even if you're upgrading from an original Xbox One and have already picked up the Halo games, you can give the extras to a buddy and play co-op.
