Microsoft Will Not Hold Gamescom Press Briefing
Last year, Sony bowed out of a Gamescom press conference in favor of Paris Games Week. This year, Microsoft is following suit, leaving behind a staple of the biggest trade event in Europe.
The Xbox team has announced it will not hold press briefing in Cologne this August. Microsoft will still have a presence at the show, but will be shifting focus toward fans instead of talking to the media.
The company has announced plans for a Fanfest event similar to what it holds at E3. There are no details yet, but the public-facing event will be held during Gamescom.
If you are attending the show in Cologne, Microsoft will have a booth in Hall 8 of the Koelnmesse. There, you can check out much of what Microsoft had at E3, including:
- Gears of War 4
- Forza Horizon 3
- Halo Wars 2
- ReCore
- Sea of Thieves
- We Happy Few
- Everspace
- Cuphead
Gamescom will take place from August 17 through August 21 in Cologne, Germany.
