Overwatch’s First Add-On Character Available On PC Test Server

by Mike Futter on Jul 12, 2016 at 09:36 AM

Want to jump in and take Ana out for a spin? You can do that right now on the PC Public Test Region (PTR). Additionally, Blizzard is testing out some big changes that will make their way in some form to all versions of the game.

Those of you playing competitive are about to have your strategies disrupted a bit. Blizzard is testing out limiting each team to one of each hero.

You’ll also be a little less confounded by Bastion. His ultimate charge time has been increased by 10 percent.

D.Va is getting a massive shift to her defense matrix ability. The cooldown has been dropped from ten seconds to one. She now has a separate resource that will deplete when using the matrix and recharge when it’s not in use. It’s now activated as an alternate fire.

If you found yourself getting caught in your own ultimate blast as D.Va, you’ll be happy to know that you’re now immune. Additionally, the cost of the ultimate has been reduced by 15 percent, and the detonation time has been ticked down from four seconds to three.

Blizzard says players weren’t selecting D.Va as often as they were other tanks. The changes are designed to bring her in line and make her more of a factor on the battlefield.

Likewise, Zenyatta is seeing some changes. His projectiles will now fly four times as fast, his movement speed is doubled when activating his ultimate, and his healing has been increased 50 percent while it’s up. Zenyatta also now has 50 more points in shields.

A number of other little changes include Roadhog’s ultimate now costing 45 percent more, Mercy’s Resurrect cost increased 30 percent and her damage boost bumped from 30 percent to 50 percent, and Lucio and Soldier 76 both having their ultimates go up in cost by 10 percent.

You can read the full patch notes on Blizzard’s site. As a reminder, these changes are only up on the PC PTR right now. There is no PTR on consoles. Once fully tested, these updates and the new character, Ana, will be pushed through to all release servers.
