Weekend Warrior – Pokémon Go, Go, Go!

If you live in Minneapolis, don’t be surprised if a wild GI crew member appears because Pokémon Go has gotten us out of our chairs and out into the streets trying to catch as many original 151 Pokémon as we can find. Who says video games make you lazy! Besides combing the tall grass, check out what else we will be up to this coming weekend. 

Brian Shea (@BrianPShea) – This weekend I’m finally finishing up Twilight Princess HD. Finally. From there, I’ll continue pouring time into Overwatch and Clash Royale, and continue my playthrough of A Link to the Past. Who knows? Maybe I’ll even start something else. I’ve been eyeing Deus Ex: Human Revolution ever since it went backward compatible on Xbox One.

Ben Hanson (@yozetty) – I’m going to be traveling this weekend, but I hope to finish Inside on Friday night. I’ve heard so many good things about that damn game’s ending. Outside of that, I hope to travel to new, mysterious places and catch a bunch of Pokémon. Pokémon Go is the second coming of Christ. Have a good weekend!

Mike Futter (@Futterish) – I'm traveling, so it's all 3DS and Vita. Top of the list is Final Fantasy Theatrhythm, Monster Hunter, Grand Kingdom, and Adventures of Mana.

Javy Gwaltney (@Hurdyiv) – I'm chilling on the west coast this weekend and taking it easy with some Zero Time Dilemma, Tales From The Borderlands, Inside, and Radiant Historia. 

Jenifer Vinson (@JenMarie_Vinson)  – The Last of Us and Pokémon Go. 

Jeff Marchiafava (@GIJeffM) – This weekend I plan to (hopefully) get started in Overwatch’s Competitive mode, and continue plugging away at Doom’s phenomenal story campaign. I’ll also undoubtedly continue playing Pokémon Go, which the entire staff is obsessed with. But hey, at least it’s exercise!

Blake Hester (hates Twitter, hates fun) – I don't know, I'll probably play Streets of Rage 2 or something.

AJ Moser (@AndMoser) – This weekend I'll be going back to collect all the secrets in Inside, trying to raise my score on Overwatch's competitive mode, and continuing my playthrough of Final Fantasy VII. Disc two, woo! Most importantly, I am going to get out in the real world and make some serious progress on Pokémon Go. I need to claim more of my local gyms back in the name of the glorious Red Team after those shifty animals on Blue Team teamed up against me. Now that my main man Yung Pidge is ready to evolve into Pidgeot, they don't stand a chance. I've built up a solid stock of revives, potions, and stardusts so there's no way I can lose. Nothing will stand in my way. Oh, what's that? The servers are down? Huh, well I'm sure they'll work in a little. I'll just stand outside for a few hours and wait. See you guys on Monday.

Haley MacLean (@haleyfaxer) – Everyone around me is playing Pokémon Go, and thanks to my dumb Canadian-registered phone I am stuck in the Stone Age just using my phone for texting like a chump. This weekend I will be checking the app store religiously, and thanks to some GI peeps now I know a neat trick to get Pikachu as my starter Pokémon! Other than that, some Overwatch with my friends back home and tackling some puzzles in The Witness, which are getting unbearably hard at this point. 

Leo Vader (@leovader) – I'm really excited to try Evolve Stage 2, although purchasing it on PS4 and not receiving the founder's bonus on PC is pretty upsetting. I could've bought half a character with that extra currency. I also anticipate playing Pokémon Go consistently until around Sunday, when I will get bored of it and most likely never play it again. I think I've been through enough mobile games to know where that's headed.   

Andrew Reiner (@Andrew_Reiner) – I'm finally getting around to 10 Cloverfield Lane, and can't wait to check out Dex: Enhanced Edition for the next Science-Fiction Weekly column. When I'm not gaming, I'm taking the family to a waterpark! Should be a fun weekend!
