Latest Star Trek Beyond Trailer Sets Intergalactic Destruction To Rihanna
Earlier trailers shown for the upcoming Star Trek Beyond to this point have steered in the direction of being over-the-top fun, with songs like the Beastie Boys' "Sabotage" blaring over fast cuts of high action scenes. More recently, the tone of the trailers have shifted to look more serious and epic. With the latest theatrical trailer for Star Trek Beyond, the movie gets an even more somber tone, set to the new song "Sledgehammer" by Rihanna.
In the trailer, we hear Chris Pine's Captain Kirk bid farewell to the U.S.S. Enterprise, and watch as it plummets to its destruction. With Justin Lin, the man behind several films in the Fast & Furious franchise, at the helm, it's no doubt that the movie will be the exciting thrill ride the earlier trailers billed it as, but this trailer shows that, much like the preceding entries in this franchise, it will likely have some intense, sentimental scenes as well.
