Find Out Why This Daredevil Game Never Saw The Light Of Day

by Elise Favis on Jun 25, 2016 at 08:50 AM

Daredevil: The Man Without Fear was a game originally planned for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, though it was cancelled before release. YouTuber Unseen64, also known as journalist Liam Robertson, contacted the developers to better understand why this game never saw the light of day.

Daredevil: The Man Without Fear was a game with modest beginnings. Along with publisher Encore, developer 5000ft Inc. first planned it as a small scale third-person action game. After seeing an early prototype, Marvel itself seemed enthusiastic for the project. Shortly afterwards, it was announced that a 2003 Daredevil movie was coming to theaters, and this only increased the potential of the video game's success. Expansions were made, and the game became more ambitious with a bigger budget.

However, now that Sony and Marvel had a lot of power over the direction of the game, this caused friction with the development team at 5000ft Inc. Both Marvel and Sony had conflicting visions, and this is one of the factors that led to the project's unfortunate demise. Watch the video below to get the full story on why this title never saw release.
