Nintendo Drops Price Of Devil’s Third As Online Features Scheduled For Termination

by Mike Futter on Jun 23, 2016 at 04:48 AM

Devil’s Third has only been out since December 11, 2015, but its online components won’t survive 2016. Nintendo has announced that those features will be terminated by year’s end.

Nintendo is also dropping the price of the $60 game by half starting today. Microtransactions (golden eggs) are being removed from the store on June 27, and they will cease functioning entirely when the online functions go offline.

Online services will terminate as of December 28, 2016. If you’re curious why the player community might not be terribly robust, check out our review.

Our Take
A year of full functionality doesn’t seem like an awful long time. However given how poorly Devil’s Third was received, chances are that there isn’t much of a community to disappoint with this news.
