[Update] Battlefield 4: Second Assault DLC Free On All Platforms

by Brian Shea on Jun 21, 2016 at 07:16 AM

Update: Second Assault is now available free on EA's Origin service for PC and on the PlayStation Network for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.

Original Story:

Over the past several months, EA has been rotating DLC from Battlefield 4 and Battlefield: Hardline as free on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. We now know what the next piece of DLC to be offered for no money is, as Battlefield 4's Second Assault DLC has made the jump to free to Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox One and Xbox 360. While the DLC isn't showing up as free on the other platforms, given the recent pattern of the DLC becoming temporarily free across all platforms, it would be surprising if it didn't make the jump to free on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC as well.

Second Assault originally released in 2014 and is one of five expansions that was included with the Battlefield 4 Premium Edition. It adds four updated versions of Battlefield 3 maps including Operation Metro and Caspian Border.

As of the time of this writing, the Second Assault DLC is still listed as $14.99 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Origin on PC.

Note: We originally had the incorrect release year for this DLC. A correction has been made and we apologize for the error.
