DHX Media will be joining production on the upcoming animated Mega Man series, announced last summer. The series is set for a unspecified 2017 launch.

According to Deadline, DHX Media, who has previously worked on series such as Teletubbies and Yo Gabba Gabba, will develop, distribute, co-produce, and share management of the upcoming series with Dentsu Entertainment. DHX will handle global rights for the series, as well as licensing and distribution in the United States and all other territories aside from Asia -- which will be handled by Dentsu.

The Mega Man series will be aimed towards children between the ages of six and nine and parents that grew up with the series. It's expected to launch alongside the series' 30th anniversary in 2017.

We recently named the Mega Man series as a video game franchise that deserves better.
