If you're playing the newly released Homefront: The Revolution and need a break from liberating Philadelphia from North Korean occupation, Deep Silver Dambuster Studios has provided you with options. Hidden away within the game is an arcade cabinet called Time to Split. Step up to that cabinet and you'll be magically whisked away to 2002 to play a couple of levels from TimeSplitters 2.

The cabinet features the first two areas from the game, Siberia and Chicago. To find it, you simply go to the game's restricted zone and find The Bourse, which is a location that you encounter through a mission in the main story of Homefront: The Revolution. From there, you head upstairs to find the cabinet. For more explicit instructions, see Eurogamer's video below.

Homefront: The Revolution released today on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Our Take
It's always cool when developers do things like this. Nods to classic titles (particularly since Deep Silver Dambuster is made up of Crytek UK employees which was previously called Free Radical Design – the developers of the TimeSplitters series) are always appreciated by those who played those titles long ago. Maybe if this Easter egg gets enough attention, we'll see something new from the TimeSplitters series.
