Good news for Overwatch fans: the open beta that's underway right now and playable for free, has been extended an extra day.

Community manager Stephanie Johnson (username is Lylirra) wrote on the Overwatch forums saying that the team has collected "invaluable data" from fans playing the game. She said, "We couldn't be more grateful. So, as a small way of saying "thank you" to our community and the millions of players who've logged in so far, we will be extending the Open Beta by 1 day on all platforms."

The open beta will continue until May 10 at 10 a.m. PDT on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Overwatch's official launch is set for May 24.

Our Take
I've been enjoying Overwatch, so hearing that it's been extended for an extra day is great news. There's no negatives here – Blizzard receives another day to gather data and test the game, and fans get another day of playing for free before launch. Good for both sides.
