Altus Continues First-Run Bonus Tradition With Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse Pin Set

by Mike Futter on Apr 28, 2016 at 10:04 AM

Atlus has often treated its early adopters to a special treat for jumping in early. Art books, soundtracks, and other collectibles are often bundled in free with first-run copies of the publisher’s games.

For Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse, players can wear their chosen path with pride. The first-run comes with a set of three metal pins bearing three different symbols.

Included are emblems matching the paths of peace and anarchy, as well as one representing the deity Dagda, who resurrects the player at the start. If you want a set, you’ll need to pre-order or otherwise get one of the first copies at launch.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse will be out on 3DS this summer. First-run editions cost the same as those that will be printed later: $49.99.

Our Take
One of the things I’ve always appreciated about Atlus is the way it approaches first-run copies of its games. Offering special add-ons to loyal fans at no additional cost is a great way to both incentivize early adoption and engender good will.
