It Looks Like The Next Call Of Duty Game Is Called Infinite Warfare

by Mike Futter on Apr 26, 2016 at 06:32 AM

If you happen to be on the PlayStation Store right now, you’ll see a trending listing that probably isn’t actually trending. The next Call of Duty game, being developed by Infinity Ward hasn’t been formally revealed yet. Sony might have spilled the beans on the title, though.

The PlayStation Store listing labels the game as “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare," which you can see in the video we captured below. We’ve reached out to Activision for comment, and we’ll update should we receive a response.

Previous rumors suggested the game will take place in space. Whether that’s a near-Earth orbit like we saw in Call of Duty: Ghosts (Infinity Ward's last game) or something far more futuristic, we’re not sure.

It also seems that Jim Sterling has come into possession of retailer advertising documents that point to an imminent reveal. These two pieces in concert mean we’re on the lookout for the big reveal.

Our Take
A new Call of Duty game isn’t news, but the fact that the reveal is happening should perk fans up. If this actually is a heavily science fiction-influenced game, it will most certainly raise eyebrows as a significant departure for the franchise.
