World Of Warcraft’s Next Expansion, Legion, Arrives In August

by Mike Futter on Apr 18, 2016 at 07:23 AM

Blizzard has announced the release date for World of Warcraft’s next expansion. Legion will kick off the fall rush, giving players a chance to raise their characters to level 100.

Anyone who pre-orders the game will be able to boost one character to 100 for free. They’ll also get access to the new Demon Hunter class prior to Legion’s August 30 release.

As usual, Blizzard is offering a standard version ($49.99) and digital deluxe edition ($69.99). The latter comes with a number of bonuses for the publisher’s other titles. You’ll get:

  • Illidari Felstalker mount and pet for World of Warcraft
  • Felstalker mount for Heroes of the Storm
  • Helm transmog and wings for Diablo III
  • Two portraits for StarCraft II

There’s also a retail collector’s edition ($89.99) that includes the digital bonuses, hardcover art-book, two-disc Blu-ray/DVD “making of” set, CD soundtrack, and a mouse pad. You can read more about Legion in our previous coverage.
