Find Out Why This Guitar Hero MMO Was Cancelled

by Elise Favis on Apr 16, 2016 at 06:58 AM

Unseen64's YouTube contributor Liam Robertson unveils how Activision's Guitar Hero-inspired MMO, titled Hero World, never came to be.

The web-based multiplayer title planned to connect PlayStation, Wii, and Xbox players by linking into games from both the Guitar Hero and DJ Hero franchises. The MMO aimed to release with an accompanying Facebook game, but both were cancelled by Activision in 2011.

In Hero World, you would manage a club and hire on other players to play at your venue, which in turn gives you bonus points and cash. Activision also looked into allowing players to share user-created songs through the game.
