Ace Attorney Anime Premieres On Crunchyroll Today

by Elise Favis on Apr 02, 2016 at 05:33 AM

The debut episode of the Ace Attorney anime streamed its first episode today at 4:00 a.m. PT through Crunchyroll.

The anime will return every Saturday at the same time, and will be streamed in Japanese with English subtitles. The show is titled Gyakuten Saiban which translates to Turnabout Trial. Because of the Japanese audio, the characters' names will be changed, such as Naruhodo Ryuichi (Phoenix Wright), Ayasato Mayoi (Maya Fey), and Mitsurugi Reiji (Miles Edgeworth). The episode will stream worldwide excluding Asia.

You can find out the full details on Capcom's blog post here or read Crunchyroll's forum post about it. Capcom's Ace Attorney 6 is due to release on 3DS in Japan this June, with the game coming to North America later on. Our Take
This certainly isn't news I could object to, and it's exciting for Ace Attorney fans, including myself. Because of the visual novel form and narrative quality of these games, I think the series will work wonderfully as a show.
