Deer Cam Mod Gives Grand Theft Auto V's Animal AI New Purpose

A modder known as Brent Watanabe has created a Grand Theft Auto V hack that spawns a deer and simply follows it through San Andreas. This weird idea has been livestreamed on Twitch, and thousands of people have watched it.

The video is streamed from a PC running a modded version of GTAV that doesn't require anyone to be playing. The deer is completely autonomous – it makes its own decisions, responds to its surroundings and interacts with other AI in the game.

In the past few days, the deer has taken a long walk on the beach, caused a traffic pileup on a freeway, and been involved in a gang shootout. The stream is currently offline, but you can still watch the deer's past adventures here.
