Hearthstone Patch Adds Deck Recipes, More Deck Slots

by Luke Walaszek on Mar 15, 2016 at 12:18 PM

The latest Hearthstone patch has been released, and with it deck recipes have been added to the digital CCG. These deck suggestions provide new players with guidelines they can use to build fully formed competitive constructed decks.

In addition, the patch will grant players an extra nine deck slots, bringing the total up to a healthy 18. Blizzard has also promised a smarter “Suggest a Card” feature in the Collection Manager to make deckbuilding a breeze.

Of course, the patch also addresses some performance bugs in the game as well as adding a few UI upgrades, including a new Paladin hero available through a World of Warcraft promotion and three new card backs. The full list of notes is available here

Hearthstone’s next expansion, Whisper of the Old Gods, is now available for pre-purchase. You can take a look at some of the cards coming in that expansion here

Our Take
Fans have been clamoring for extra deck slots since day one, so it's nice to see them finally double in quantity. Deck recipes sound like a good way to get new players acquainted with deck construction, which is typically one of the steepest learning curves when picking up a new CCG. It's been a big week for Hearthstone, but so far it's been nothing but good news.
