Weekend Warrior – A Lumberjack’s Guide To Backlogging

by Joe Buchholz on Mar 04, 2016 at 01:00 PM

The beginning of March is a quiet respite in the middle of a game release tidal wave. We take our time to catch a breath and dig into some of our backlogs. There are also a few flicks at the theater worth catching. Sound off about what you’re watching and playing below!

Jeff Marchiafava (@GIJeffM) – This weekend I plan to stab more things in the face with spears in Far Cry Primal. However, I’ve also started Just Cause 3, which is equally as enticing, but for drastically different reasons. Do I fight with other cavemen over woolly mammoths? Or soar through the air (and crash into the ground) with my wingsuit while simultaneously shooting RPGs at enemy helicopters. It’s a question as old as time….

Brian Shea (@BrianPShea) – This weekend, I’ll be playing Far Cry Primal and Twilight Princess HD primarily, but I might also sneak in some XCOM 2 and Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2.

Luke Walaszek (@urzashottub) – I just beat The Last Of Us Remastered on PS4, so I'm probably going to play through the DLC tonight. The rest of the weekend will be filled with more Fire Emblem, and I'll keep slogging through the backlog as I see fit.

Kyle Hilliard (@KyleMHilliard) – I’ve already got the tickets to go see Zootopia, a movie I wasn’t particularly interested in until the reviews started rolling in. Now I am very excited. Otherwise, I would like to play more Twilight Princess HD, a little more Pokémon Yellow, Resident Evil 2 on Vita (it was $1.50 earlier this week), and maybe a new game, I guess. Far Cry Primal, probably. I would also like to get started the on the second season of Better Call Saul, as well. I’m Bob Odenkirk’s biggest fan (most of you know I quote Mr. Show on Replay regularly, despite the confused looks of my peers) and I’ve already fallen pretty far behind.

Joe Buchholz (@JoeyFatoney) – I’m going to see The Boy And The Beast in theaters tonight, which is directed by Mamoru Hosoda. He directed Digimon:The Movie and Summer Wars, which basically rehashed the plot of Digimon: The Movie. It’s weird how he pretty much plagiarized himself. Maybe this movie will also be Digimon: The Movie. I would be okay with that. This weekend I’ll be playing a bunch of games from Square Enix’s massive Steam sale.
