Nintendo announced a new entry in its Paper Mario series today, Paper Mario: Color Splash. In the game, which is coming to the Wii U this year, Mario has to restore color to an island using a handy new gadget.

When Prism Island has been drained of color, it’s up to our favorite plumber to set things right. While an ordinary paintbrush could bring things back to how they were, that’s far too subtle.

Instead, Mario comes armed with a paint hammer. Players can use it to bring color back to the world, which is used to solve environmental puzzles and resurrect fallen Toads. Players can also paint cards using the GamePad’s screen, and then flick them onto their TVs to start battles.

Paper Mario: Color Splash is coming to the Wii U in 2016.
