Prepare For Star Fox Zero With This Finely Sculpted Statue

by Joe Buchholz on Feb 22, 2016 at 07:54 AM

PowerA is releasing a limited edition stone resin figure of Fox McCloud to coincide with the upcoming release of Star Fox Zero. This collector’s item accurately depicts the scale of Fox, and stands tall at 8-inches. It will be released in limited quantities, with only 5,000 hand painted statues being produced.

This GameStop exclusive sculpt shows off McCloud’s latest character design, which differs from the pictured Star Fox Amiibo. [Full disclosure: GameStop is Game Informer’s parent company.] Star Fox’s lead character has had subtle design iterations over the years, and in the original game it’s theorized that Fox and his crew have prosthetic robot legs.

We’ve gotten our hands on the figure and it feels like a quality rendering of the intergalactic canine. The statue has a real heft to it, and the detailed sculpting of Fox’s hair and accessories is especially impressive.

This upcoming figure would look stellar next to First 4’s high-end Arwing statue, but might dwarf the Star Fox amiibo on your desk. Make sure to check out our interview with original Star Fox creator Shigeru Miyamoto in anticipation of Star Fox Zero’s April 22 release.

PowerA’s Fox McCloud figure is releasing in March with a $79.99 price tag, and will be exclusively available for pre-order through GameStop. Stay tuned to more coverage of Star Fox Zero by clicking here
