The Newly Remodeled Nintendo NY Store Just Reopened Today

by Connor Trinske on Feb 19, 2016 at 11:40 AM

The Nintendo World Store in New York recently underwent some remodeling and a name change. Mario and Luigi officially reopened the store today as Nintendo NY.

During the ribbon-cutting ceremony this afternoon, the Mario Brothers were joined by (from left to right in the photo above) Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario, and Nintendo of America executives Doug Bowser, Scott Moffitt and Rick Lessley. Fans were gathered outside the store in Rockefeller Plaza, awaiting the reopening throughout the morning.

Nintendo NY now includes upgraded Wii U demo units, as well as a more spacious interior that includes a giant Mario Amiibo and plenty of video screens. It will also host many upcoming events, which you can keep up with on the Nintendo NY website.
