Check Out The First Teaser Image For Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2

Filming is officially under way for James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The film is still a long ways off, slated to hit theaters on May 5, 2017, but Marvel is giving us a small (Groot-sized) taste of what we can expect in the teaser image above. The gang is together again, and if the casting information hints at anything, it may be growing with new recruits.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 stars Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Vin Diesel (Groot), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Dave Bautista (Drax), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Michael Rooker (Yondu), and Sean Gunn (Kraglin). New cast members include the great Kurt Russell, Chris Sullivan, Elizabeth Debicki, and Pom Klementieff. The big question is who will Russell be playing? He'd make a great villain, but rumors swirling across the net hint at him maybe having a connect to Star-Lord. We can't wait to find out.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is the 15th installment in Marvel's interconnected universe, and is the third film in Marvel's "Phase Three" story arc. The first Guardians of the Galaxy film netted over $770 million in the worldwide box office.
