McFarlane Toys Announces Titanfall 2 Line

by Matt Bertz on Feb 10, 2016 at 12:20 PM

It appears Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment are thinking big with the second installment in the Titanfall series.

A week after Forbes published a report claiming Titanfall 2 will include a dedicated single-player campaign and a television spinoff, today McFarlane Toys announced plans for a line of Titanfall 2 themed toys. The press release says these toys are a part of the "new 2016 collector box program," stand seven inches tall, and that they are slated for a winter 2016 release "in conjunction with the highly anticipated launch of Titanfall 2."

Our Take
The winter 2016 release window for these figures is interesting considering EA's previous statement only pointed to a game launch before March 2017. If Respawn accelerates development it could make for a crowded holiday 2016 shooter space, with Gears of War 4, the next Infinity Ward Call of Duty title, and EA's own Battlefield 5 all currently slated to join the fray. However, EA and Respawn will ultimately determine when the game launches, whether or not the toy line is ready.
