What's New For Dirt Rally On Console

by Matthew Kato on Feb 03, 2016 at 07:27 AM

Codemasters' return to rally racing on PC late last year was a glorious one, and on April 5 PS4 and Xbox One owners will also be able to get their hands on the death-defying title. Today the company released details of what's been added for the consoles as well as a fun teaser trailer.

Rallycross will be open from the start of the game (featuring some of the new cars – the classic Mini and Super 1600 cars), easing the grind a little for the game's career mode. Furthermore, 21 tutorial videos have been added for newcomers looking to get a handle on the title's challenging but enthralling gameplay or for old hands looking to perfect their skills.

Also included are a full gravel version of the iconic Pike's Peak hill climb and three liveries for late rally legend Colin McCrae.

Finally, you can also pick up the Legend Edition which unlocks and fully upgrades the Mini Cooper S and Ford Escort MK2, adds exclusive liveries for those cars, and gifts your racing team a "unique" team mechanic (with perks).

Here are the new cars:

  • Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak
  • Renault 5 Turbo
  • Renault Alpine A110
  • Opel Corsa Super 1600
  • Peugeot 207 S1600
  • Renault Clio S1600
  • Mini Classic Rallycross

I was quite impressed with the PC version of the game, and you can read all about it in my review.
