Reader Discussion: We Want Your Reactions To The Oculus Rift Price
Earlier today, Oculus opened pre-orders for the first consumer Rift virtual reality headset. Along with that, we finally learned what it will cost to bring VR into your house.
For many, the $600 price point was surprising, but reactions differed. Some people are calling it a signal of the technology's early death. Others are less pessimistic.
We're curious to hear what you have to say. If you don't plan on buying a Rift at launch, are you waiting for PlayStation VR or the HTC Vive? If price is the issue, what is your threshhold?
Apart from your personal interest (or disinterest) in the medium, how do you expect pricing to change? How long do you think it will take before the format moves from the early adopter phase into mainstream adoption? Let us know in the comments.
