Torment: Tides Of Numera Beta Coming Soon
InXile Entertainment has announced that backers of the hugely successful Kickstarter for Torment: Tides of Numera can get an early look at the game in just a few weeks.
Kickstarter backers will get access to the beta starting on January 17, with general Steam early access starting on January 26. According to an update on Kickstarter from Brian Fargo, the beta will start at the beginning of the game and contain the first city players will visit in a location called Sagus Cliffs. A previous update stated the beta would contain more than 10 hours of gameplay.
Torment: Tides of Numera raised more than $4 million when its Kickstarter launched in 2013. The project was originally expected to release in December 2014, but InXile has pushed back its targeted release date twice since then. Project Lead Kevin Saunders announced he was leaving the studio in November, having completed his work on the game.

Kickstarter backers have been waiting patiently to get their hands on Torment, and while the extended development time can be partially attributed to the game's ambitious stretch goals, you can't fault players for getting antsy. The upcoming beta should help...tide players over until release. No pun intended.
