by Kyle Hilliard on Dec 24, 2015 at 06:00 AM

Capcom released a trio of Man games on Wii U Virtual Console on Thursday.

Mega Man Zero, Mega Man Battle Network: Team Colonel, and Mega Man Battle Network: Team Protoman. Zero is $7.99, and the two Battle Networks are $6.99 each. [Update: Super Mario Galaxy is now available to purchase as a Virtual Console title for the Wii U. A DLC update for Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle & Dragons  Super Mario Bros. Edition is also available on the Nintendo eShop.]

When it  released in 2005 we gave Mega Man Zero 4 an 8 writing, "Zero 4 delivers what fans expect out of a Mega Man title – namely, cool boss battles and hectic side-scrolling action – and addresses some of the issues of previous entries in the series. [...] Zero 4 still runs into some problems with overly generous hit detection and not allowing you to see far enough ahead to plan out your moves, but if your GBA hole needs plugging, this is a good choice."

We gave Mega Man Battle Network: Team Colonel/Team Protoman a 7 writing, "Those that loved the earlier titles have a lot more of the same to look forward to with BN 5. However, if you’re looking for a reinvention of the franchise, you’d best spend your money elsewhere."

Our Take
The Battle Network series never did much for me (though I certainly recognize its appeal), but considering how much I adore the Mega Man X series, I really should play the Mega Man Zero games. I played the ZX DS games, but never the Zero series. I should really take care of that oversight.
