Masahiro Sakurai Runs Down Super Smash Bros. By The Numbers

by Mike Futter on Dec 15, 2015 at 10:40 AM

With Super Smash Bros. DLC now fully detailed, game director Masahiro Sakurai tallied up everything that players can enjoy on both versions. The numbers are impressive, especially when compared against other fighting games.

When Corrin and Bayonetta are released in 2016, the final roster of 58 characters will be complete. That isn’t the only impressive statistic, as Sakurai broke down more of what the pair of games has to offer.

  • Between the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game, there are 84 stages.
  • Mii Fighters, which give players an opportunity to customize characters in three different classes, have ninety-nine costume pieces and ninety-seven hats to choose from. These combine both male and female options.
  • There are 507 music tracks featured in the game. This doesn't include the victory jingles and other flourishes.
  • There are more than 700 trophies in each version, with 743 on Wii U and 707 on 3DS.

This was the final Super Smash Bros. presentation and the game is finally be nearing its final form. With more than a year of DLC and continued improvements, Nintendo and Project Sora have delivered one heck of a game.
