Natsume's venture into the world of children's sci-fi (the developer is typically known for game's like Harvest Moon) is now available on the Wii U's Virtual Console.

Originally released in 2002, the game follows Ikki Tenryou as he trains and does battle with his Medabot. The franchise received the typical treatment in Japan with an accompanying manga and anime, but never gained quite the same traction in North America. Much like comparable games, Metabee And Rokusho are similar, but feature small differences in content.

Our Take
I never played this one, but I do remember it being somewhat popular among young players during my video game retail days. It was no Pokémon, but it hit many of the same notes.
