Star Wars Battlefront Graphics Mod Runs Amazing Visuals in 4K

by Joseph Knoop on Dec 11, 2015 at 05:46 AM

Star Wars Battlefront may have its share of problems, but at least it’s really pretty, right? A new mod makes the science fiction universe dazzle in even more realistic detail.

The SweetFX real-life mod makes a number of tweaks to the PC version of Battlefront, including post-processor shading effects like SMAA anti-aliasing, sharpening, and color modification – all in a lovely 4K resolution and running at 60 frames per second. YouTube user “jackfrags” uploaded a three-minute highlight reel set to a piano cover of the Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind.”

The SweetFX real-life mod can be downloaded here. Another modder by the name of Martin Bergman previously released screenshots of his “Toddyhancer” photorealism mod for Battlefront to much praise, but there is currently no established link between the two mods.

Our Take
Battlefront already looked amazing, but seeing a new mod in motion (as opposed to stills) really hammers home the fact that games can achieve some pretty amazing visuals. It doesn't appear at this time that the mod is the same Toddyhancer mod previously reported on, as Bergman's social media channels have made no claim to it, and YouTuber user "jackfrags" never made mention of it in the video description.
