Hot Shots Golf Hits The PlayStation 4

by Matthew Kato on Dec 07, 2015 at 02:02 PM

The Hot Shots series is a mainstay of Sony's platforms, and the latest title in the golfing franchise was unveiled at last weekend's PlayStation Experience. While the venerable series has been steady and reliable in its feature set, developer Clap Hanz Limited is trying out some new wrinkles for this PlayStation 4 exclusive.

While different outfits and abilities for its stable of golfers has been a regular feature for the franchise, Clap Hanz is promising increased character customization, starting with players making their own golfer from scratch. From there characters improve the skills of their golfer and level up by completing specific tasks. It's unknown if equipment will also confer different abilities like in previous Golf's.

And in an interesting twist, you can freeroam the game's courses (including going from tee to tee) and even do some fishing.

The game also features online features like co-op play, a team-based mode revolving around completing as many courses as possible in a set amount of time, online tourneys, missions, and more.

A release date for the game was not announced.
