Reader Discussion: What's The Best Film Adaptation Of A Video Game?
Movies based on video games have rarely (if ever) turned out well. But what is the best one?
Prompted by a recent feature where we talked to Remedy's Sam Lake about the film version of Max Payne, readers commented about video games and the movies they have inspired.
There are plenty to choose from – Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, Hitman (both versions), Street Fighter, Super Mario Bros., Prince of Persia, etc., but which one stands out for you?
It's not a great movie, but I remember being impressed by the 2006 Silent Hill film. It showed a clear appreciation for the source material and had some creepy moments. I haven't watched it since its release, though, so I am not sure if it holds up.
