Xenoblade Chronicles X Data Packs Speed Up Loading, Available Now
It’s no secret that Xenoblade Chronicles X is going to have a massive world, and that could put a strain on your Wii U. That’s why Nintendo is releasing four separate data packs that players can download in advance to speed up the loading process when the game releases on December 4.
The downloads are designed to improve performance in specific categories. The basic pack broadly covers elements of the open world, the enemy pack loads enemy data faster, the player data pack covers armor and equipment, and the skell pack makes the large robots load faster. These are available as four separate downloads, but you should strongly consider grabbing all of them – assuming you have enough free space. Each one is in the 2GB neighborhood (some more, some less).
These packs should be available to Wii U owners right now, as of the conclusion of today’s Nintendo Direct presentation.
Note that these data packs are only for the physical version of Xenoblade Chronicles X. The digital version will include them automatically as part of the installation.
