Nintendo Confirms New Legend Of Zelda Still Coming To Wii U In 2016

by Brian Shea on Nov 12, 2015 at 10:04 AM

Following its delay out of 2015, many speculated that Nintendo could opt to push its upcoming entry in the Legend of Zelda franchise to its new platform, codenamed NX. Nintendo shot down that prediction today with the confirmation that the new Legend of Zelda is still slotted to hit the Wii U and will hold a 2016 release date.

The news, which comes on the heels of the announcement of Twilight Princess HD and a new Midna/Wolf Link Amiibo, also comes with news that some data from that Amiibo's use in Twilight Princess HD will transfer to the new Legend of Zelda. Nintendo did not indicate what that data would be or if it hints at some common themes between the two games.

While we still don't have a firm release date or many hard details about what the adventure will bring players, we do know that the Legend of Zelda will hit Wii U in 2016.
