Mortal Kombat Creator Shares Single Screenshot Of Cancelled Mortal Kombat HD Remake
At one time, work on an HD remake of the original Mortal Kombat began. That project never came to be, but series creator Ed Boon recently shared a screenshot of the incomplete project.

You can check out the image above to see what the game may have looked like. It's unclear if this is just a conceptual piece, or an actual screenshot from the unfinished game.

This seems like a pretty safe bet. I'm surprised it never came to be. I bet this is a game a lot of classic Mortal Kombat fans would be interested in playing.
