Quantic Dream Reboots Kara In Detroit: Become Human

by Jeff Marchiafava on Oct 27, 2015 at 09:03 AM

During Sony's Paris Games Week presentation, David Cage announced Quantic Dream's new project, which takes players back to a fan-favorite demo about an android named Kara.

Cage ended Sony's show with a reveal trailer for its new PlayStation 4-exclusive project, Detroit: Become Human. The game takes place in a futuristic version of the city, where humans have grown angry and distrustful of their android counterparts. Enter Kara, the star of Quantic Dream's promising 2012 demo, who is now seen wandering the streets of Detroit in human clothes while pondering her own sentience (and attracting the attention of her fellow robots).

The end of the trailer teases that the entire video was made with in-engine footage, which shouldn't be surprising given graphic fidelity of the developer's previous work. Hopefully Detroit: Become Human can win back fans who were unimpressed with how Beyond: Two Souls turned out.
