Microsoft and 343 Industries have posted an alert for those that pre-purchased Halo 5 via the Xbox One digital store. If you locked in your interest before September 21, you might need to take a couple of steps to pre-download your game.

The issue only pops up if you don’t use the Instant On feature. If you do, you should be fine. If not, you’ll want to check your file size before the game launches next week.

From your Games and Apps screen, you can tell how large each of your installed files is. If Halo 5: Guardians is showing up as greater than 40 GB, you’re fine. If not, you’ll need to delete what’s there in order to re-download the proper content.

This is apparently caused by an older “stub file” that creates a placeholder in the Xbox store library. If you purchased before September 21 and aren’t using Instant On, you have the wrong one.

Once you’re all squared away, you’ll be able to download any additional updates before the October 27 launch. For more on Halo 5, check out our Test Chamber.
