More Free Content Coming For Rory McIlroy PGA Tour

by Matthew Kato on Oct 12, 2015 at 09:02 AM

Rory McIlroy PGA Tour was EA Tiburon's first golf outing on the new systems, and while solid gameplay-wise, it was a little short in the content department. The developer is trying to make up for that with a newly announced batch of free content set to hit sometime between now and the end of March.

The free additions include (text from EA):

  • Golfers: Dustin Johnson, Henrik Stenson
  • Fantasy Course: Treasure Island
  • Real-World Courses: Quail Hollow (North Carolina), TPC Stadium at PGA West (California), Oakmont Country Club (Pennsylvania)
  • New Play Now Modes: Skins, Four Ball, Alternate Shot and Best Ball

EA says that all the content will becoming out between now and March, and that further info will be forthcoming.

After launch, EA added TPC Scottsdale and East Lake Golf Club for free.

Our Take
With this content continuing until March, I wonder if this means that the summer release date for this year's Rory is the new timeframe for the series. Last generation it came out in Spring, but that was when it had the license to the Masters, which it needed to preempt in April.
