Ubisoft Purchases The Crew Dev Ivory Tower

by Mike Futter on Oct 05, 2015 at 06:38 AM

Ubisoft has announced that The Crew developer Ivory Tower is now part of the family. The publisher confirmed the purchase on its German blog this morning.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Ubisoft says that the studio is comprised of approximately 100 employees. Ivory Tower is preparing to release a major expansion for the The Crew called Wild Run on November 7.

Ubisoft indicates that The Crew has 3 million players to-date. For more on The Ride, check out our review. You can also check out our coverage of Wild Run from E3 this year.

Our Take
This is a strong hint that Ubisoft will be continuing The Crew as an ongoing franchise. This is the second racing-focused studio now owned by the publisher. The other is Reflections, which is currently contributing to The Division.
