Hearthstone Is Finally Heading To Japan
Hearthstone has been a big hit for Blizzard, but Japanese players have been forced to play a non-localized version. Soon they won't have to.
Blizzard has announced that the game will be heading, fully localized, to Japan this month. According to CEO and Blizzard co-founder Mike Morhaime, Japanese players have enjoyed the game and have been supportive of of it, but have been forced to play it in a non-native language.
Outside of "later this month" Blizzard doesn't have an exact release date, but for Blizzard, that's more specific than usual. For our review of Hearthstone, head here.
Our Take
I'm surprised the game isn't already localized in Japanese. I'm curious to see if it gets widely embraced. It certainly seems like the kind of game Japanese players would appreciate. I'm curious to see if it grabs hold.
