Second Season Of Halo 5’s Hunt The Truth Serial-Style Radio Drama Debuts September 22

by Mike Futter on Sep 21, 2015 at 11:42 AM

Microsoft has always found ways to dial up the Halo hype as release approaches. For Halo 5: Guardians, that takes the form of a Serial-style radio drama called Hunt the Truth.

The first season aired earlier this year, and featured the investigative journalism of fictional reported Benjamin Giraud. The character was tasked with an ONI puff piece and ended up uncovering the dirty history of the UNSC’s most revered soldiers.

The cast includes Cobie Smulders (The Avengers), Mark Hamill (Star Wars), Alan Tudyk (Firefly), and others.

The second season will debut tomorrow, September 22. If you haven’t listened to the first 13 episodes of season one, you can do so on the official website. You can also listen to a clip from the upcoming season on Time's website.

Our Take
I’m a longtime fan of the fiction surrounding the Halo games, and have read a number of the books. Hunt the Truth does a great job of setting the stage for Halo 5: Guardians, and falls in line with internal tension that Microsoft and 343 have been building as the game’s release nears.
